The Upset Alert
Howard, led by AJC Super 11 pick Ta’Shawn Poole, is shocking middle Georgia.
The Huskies entered their game against No. 9 Baldwin as 25-point underdogs but lead 35-0 in the second quarter.
The top private school game of the week has been anything but a fireworks show. Wesleyan and Lovett are both scoreless at the end of the first half.
Buford is out of its early 10-0 deficit. The Wolves lead Grayson 13-10 after consecutive touchdowns, including this impressive grab from Braylon Williams.
East Coweta made a pair of impressive momentum plays on an interception returned well into the red zone and an improvisational touchdown pass minutes later.
Jackson County’s and Mountain View’s offenses were trading blows before the Panthers’ defense got involved. A 40-yard pick six from Tyler Mobbs took a 26-14 lead over Mountain View, per @FridayGameNight on X.
Etowah was favored to beat Cherokee by 17 points after four quarters, and it already has an 18-point lead in the first half.
One report said Cherokee is missing its elite starting quarterback, Zack Parker.
Kell and Creekview have thrown a couple of blows each, and the Grizzlies and Longhorns are tied at 14. That includes this long touchdown catch from Kell receiver Brock Burrus.
North Oconee took a 14-0 lead over Calhoun in a showdown of two of Georgia’s best mid-sized programs.
Coming off a momentous win over Marist last week, Brookwood is rolling into region play.
The Broncos hold a 35-0 lead over winless Duluth at halftime.
